Construction of Manchester Ethanol Plant Scheduled to Begin This Spring
By The Gazette, Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Mar. 17–ALL Energy Co.’s plan for an ethanol plant in Manchester is closer to reality.
The annexation of a 155-acre site between U.S. 20 and Old Highway 20 at the east edge of Manchester for the plant was approved by the Manchester Planning and Zoning Commission.
Officials of ALL Energy hope to begin construction on the facility this spring. The plant will produce 100 million gallons of ethanol per year, and create about 50 jobs.
The unanimous annexation vote means automatic rezoning of the property to a manufacturing designation, City Manager Tim Vick said.
ICrystal Inc. of Johnston is in the process of acquiring privately held ALL Energy.
“Since ALL Energy’s inception, our objective has been to purchase this particular property for our first ethanol plant, ICrystal President and ALL Energy Chairman Dean Sukowatey said.
