SAS Cancels Flights Due to Danish Strike

Scandinavian airline SAS canceled scores of flights Wednesday after Danish flight attendants went on strike over pay and pensions.
The strike, prompted by a negotiation standoff, will likely continue through late Thursday, at which time both sides are set to return to the bargaining table with a mediator, The Copenhagen Post reported.
Cabin Attendants Union President Verner Lundtoft Jensen said the union, which represents 1,600 Danish cabin crew members, had not authorized the walkout.
He urged crew members at Copenhagen Airport in suburban Kastrup to return to work.
SAS officials said they hoped to the cabin crew members would return to work so the airline's operations could continue.
The union's contract expired March 1.
