LNG on Sears Island
When are the powers that be in the State of Maine going to get on the ball and designate a suitable port for an LNG terminal?
I cannot believe that running LNG vessels zigzag through the islands of Passamaquoddy Bay is a safe venture. The latest concern is that such a terminal poses a hazard from fire within 1 mile. Why infuriate the Canadian Government over this venture?
Isn’t it time the state set aside a playground for environmentalists and put the island to good use as an LNG terminal?
There is a pipeline right-of-way from Searsport to Bangor and farther north that might be useful.
Let’s do something that would benefit the vast majority of Maine citizens rather than a select minority who want to keep the whole state green!
