Verizon Grant Supports Dallas Women’s Foundation
DALLAS, March 28 /PRNewswire/ — Verizon has awarded a $40,000 grant to the Dallas Women’s Foundation (DWF) in a partnership to address domestic violence by funding agencies that assist in domestic violence recovery and prevention.
The grant from Verizon Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Verizon, will enable DWF to provide qualified agencies with funding to increase the prevention of family violence while also serving and protecting women and children whose lives have been altered by a pattern of violence in the home.
“Dallas Women’s Foundation has been making grants in the area of domestic violence for more than 20 years; however the dollar amount of requests for domestic violence programs far outnumbers the resources currently available,” said Steve Banta, Verizon Southwest Region President. “This grant will enable DWF and Verizon to address this issue on a larger scale in the community.”
Verizon/Dallas Women’s Foundation grants will be announced mid-May. Dallas Women’s Foundation offers cooperative grant partnerships to companies who want to improve the community by funding programs for women and girls.
