SkyWest Airlines Begins Service As Midwest Connect

ST. GEORGE, Utah, April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. , began new service as Midwest Connect April 1. Under their agreement with Midwest Airlines, SkyWest will offer their standard exceptional service from Midwest’s Milwaukee and Kansas City hubs utilizing the 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet 200 (CRJ200).

The SkyWest-operated service begins with four daily departures from Milwaukee to Columbus, Ohio and two daily departures each to Minneapolis and Philadelphia. In May, service will expand to include three daily flights from Milwaukee to Pittsburgh, and new service to Columbus, Pittsburgh and San Antonio, Texas from the Kansas City hub.

SkyWest’s five-year agreement with Midwest calls for the use of 15 CRJ200s, all of which will be in service by October of this year. The agreement also gives Midwest the option for 10 additional SkyWest aircraft. All Midwest Connect aircraft are equipped with an oven to bake Midwest’s trademark fresh chocolate chip cookies in flight.
