Moscow, 3 April: Members of the State Duma are concerned at the new round of political crisis in Ukraine, the deputy chairman of the State Duma, One Russia member Vladimir Pekhtin, has told an ITAR- TASS correspondent.
Undoubtedly, he said, “President Viktor Yushchenko’s decree dissolving the Supreme Council will complicate the political situation in Ukraine”. “We are concerned at the news because we are not indifferent to the future of the fraternal people. The lack of a settlement within the authorities cannot improve the well-being of the people or bring about positive economic changes,” said Pekhtin.
The deputy speaker of the Duma expressed hope that “all branches of power in Ukraine will embark on a path towards consolidation and will not seek to deepen the conflict”. “Generally speaking, this situation proves that one must always uphold the basic law of the country, the constitution,” Pekhtin said.
