Taxi in Airport Dash for Gerrard’s Passport
A TAXI driver saved the day when Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard turned up at Liverpool John Lennon airport without his passport.
The player only realised his mistake as he arrived for a flight to Holland for tonight’s Champions League match with PSV Eindhoven. As fellow teammates checked in, the 26-year-old faced an agonising wait as a private hire taxi driver was sent to his home in Formby.
His fiancee, Alex Curran, mother of their two daughters, Lilly- Ella and Lexie, handed over the passport and the driver dashed back to the airport. Gerrard was then able to board the flight.
The taxi driver was apparently not quite as lucky – he was reportedly involved in a minor collision with a security vehicle as he left the airport.
