Stevie Hails Cab to Fetch His Passport
A TAXI driver saved the day when Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard turned up at Liverpool John Lennon airport without his passport.
The skipper only realised his mistake as he arrived for a flight to Holland for tomorrow night’s Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven.
As fellow team-mates checked in, the 26 year-old faced an agonising wait as a private hire taxi driver was sent to his home in Formby.
His fiancee Alex Curran, mother of their two daughters, Lilly- Ella and Lexie, handed over the passport and the driver dashed back to the airport.
Gerrard, wheeling a black suitcase, was able to check in and board the flight alongside fellow players Peter Crouch and John Arne Riise.
The taxi driver was apparently not quite as lucky.
He was reportedly involved in a minor collision with a security vehicle as he left the airport.
