CFO of Linthicum-Based Ciena Corp. To Step Down

Ciena Corp., of Linthicum, a maker of computer networking equipment, said Chief Financial Officer Joseph Chinnici plans to step down by the end of the year, and announced it has started a search for his successor. Chinnici, 52, has been with Ciena for 12 years. As CFO, he presided over five years of losses before Ciena returned to profitability in the last two quarters, as network equipment sales increased to companies such as Verizon Communications Inc.
