ANA to Enter Code-Sharing Deal With Star Flyer
Tokyo, April 9 (Jiji Press)–All Nippon Airways plans to launch a code-sharing arrangement with Star Flyer, an industry newcomer operating flights between Tokyo and Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, it was learned Monday.
The tie-up will start as early as June, ANA officials said.
By linking up with Star Flyer, ANA plans to expand its domestic flight network, the officials said.
ANA has been in similar collaborations with other regional carriers, including Hokkaido International Airlines, known as Air Do, which operates flights between Tokyo and cities in the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido, and Skynet Asia Airways, whose flights connect Tokyo and Miyazaki, southwestern Japan.
Star Flyer, which started services in March 2006, currently offers 11 round trips a day. ANA and Star Flyer are discussing the number of flights to be covered by the code-sharing deal, the officials said.
ANA has supported Star Flyer in training of cabin staff and aircraft mechanic.END
