London Gets Hybrid Buses

The world’s first hybrid double-decker bus has been unveiled by London mayor Ken Livingstone.
The diesel-electric hybrid vehicle will run along the 141 route from Palmers Green to London Bridge station via Bank. A leafy motif on the side will advertise the environmentally-friendly aspect of the bus.
Livingstone said: “Hybrid vehicles emit less harmful emissions. I repeat my call for bus manufacturers and operators to rise to the challenge of making hybrid buses more financially feasible so that we can speed up their introduction across London.”
