Golden Gate Capital Appoints Seasoned Semiconductor Executive Jai Hakhu As Senior Advisor to the Firm
In today’s announcement, Golden Gate Capital, a leading private equity fund with investments across the broader technology industry, including different segments of the semiconductor tools and device markets, named Jai Hakhu as Senior Advisor. Previously, Jai had been a Vice President at Rockwell International and at Varian Semiconductors; most recently, he was Corporate Vice President and General Manager at Intel Corporation. Jai is also President and CEO of RC International. Jai, a 28-year-veteran of the Semiconductor Industry holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
In his new position, Jai will work closely with Golden Gate Capital’s existing semiconductor portfolio companies. He will also give advice on potential future investments in semiconductors and other related sectors.

Prior to hiring Jai, Golden Gate Capital purchased two semiconductor related companies: Vistec Semiconductor Systems (formerly Leica Microsystem’s Semiconductor Equipment Division) in September 2005 and Teridian (formerly TDK America) in April 2005. Vistec Semiconductor Systems is a global leader in process metrology and direct write e-beam tools, and Teridian Semiconductor is an innovator of fabless devices for various industrial and communication markets. Golden Gate also has an investment in Freescale Semiconductor, a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking and wireless markets.
As part of this announcement, Jai will join the boards of Vistec and Teridian.
