The Right Stance on Dinners
The fact that children will turn their noses up when offered the healthy option continues to trouble the schools meals service. It was celebrity chef Jamie Oliver who first highlighted this issue and despite his best efforts he struggled to convince youngsters to change their eating habits.
His experience is being reflected by the education authorities in Bridgend where the switch to a more healthy menu has seen a drop in the uptake of school dinners.
As Oliver discovered, the conversion from a diet of Turkey Twizzlers and chips to braised chicken and fresh vegetables will take some time to achieve and a fall in school meal sales is almost inevitable. Praise must therefore be given to Bridgend council which is refusing to be beaten and insist they will press on with the healthy choices. This course of action is the only way forward. The alternative is a generation of sickly and obese youngsters.: The topsy turvy nature of the budget airlines business has again hit services at Cardiff International Airport. For the second time this week an operator has decided to pull the plug and withdraw their planes.
Air South West claimed the anticipated passenger numbers failed to materialise – but that doesn’t come as a big surprise.
These operators flying out of Cardiff seem to come and go on a regular basis and that does the airport’s reputation no good at all. The need is for a more permanent commitment from some of the bigger players. Only this will help boost passenger loyalty.
