Mayor Villaraigosa to Appoint Innovative Industry Leader to Take Helm of Los Angeles World Airports

As part of his ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the City's airports, Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa will announce the appointment of the new Executive Director of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) on Thursday, May 10, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at LAX Central Terminal, Vendor Delivery Lot 6.

LAWA's new Executive Director has a proven track record of improving and modernizing major international airports around the United States. With 16 years of experience in international airport management, the new airport chief will work with Mayor Villaraigosa to continue modernization and regionalization efforts, and develop new initiatives to update airport services.
