WATERFORD airport received a boost yesterday with the first scheduled flight from Birmingham.
The service, which will operate Sunday to Friday, adds a fourth route by Aer Arran from there.
The airline is also increasing services out of the city to Manchester and London Luton.
A spokesman said: “This is great news for travellers.”
Transport Minister Martin Cullen added the new service, together with increased frequencies, underlined Aer Arran’s commitment to Waterford and the south-east.
