Fatal Bus Crash Driver Arrested
A BUS driver involved in a fatal accident in the Midlands has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The unnamed 40-year-old, whose bus crashed into a row of houses, has been bailed pending further inquiries, West Midlands Police said.
Pedestrian, 41-year-old Steven Malpass, died in the collision on Tuesday when a bus careered off Bunns Lane in Dudley before smashing into a house and exploding in a ball of flames.
Mr Malpass was walking along the street when he was hit by the runaway single-decker as it hurtled out of control down a hill.
The driver then hit into a parked car and lamp post before finally crashing the bus into the empty semi-detached house.
Neighbour Albert Hickman and four other families were still waiting for updates on structural safety checks.
