Three Children Slightly Injured in Truck-School Bus Crash
By The Buffalo News, N.Y.
May 19–Three children were taken to Olean General Hospital for observation Friday after a Salamanca Central school bus they were riding in was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.
The accident occurred at around 3:40 p.m. on Route 219 in Killbuck. Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s investigators said the bus was coming to a stop and had its four-way flashers on when it was hit by a vehicle driven by Kevin D. Cornish of Coudersport, Pa.
Cornish was charged with following too closely to a vehicle. He will appear in Town of Great Valley Court at a later date.
The bus was occupied by nine students. One girl and a boy were transported to Olean General Hospital by ambulance for minor neck pain. A third child was taken to the same hospital via private vehicle.
