Renato Bertani Joins Infinity Energy Resources Management Team As Interim Chief Operating Officer

DENVER, May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Infinity Energy Resources, Inc. today announced that Renato T. Bertani has joined the Company's executive management team as Interim Chief Operating Officer.

"His extensive global business and geological experience, along with the relationships he has established on the World Petroleum Council, should prove extremely valuable to Infinity and its shareholders as we proceed with the development of our domestic oil and gas resources and look forward to the development of our potentially 'world-class' 1.4 million-acre offshore concession in Nicaragua."

Dr. Bertani holds a Ph.D. in Sedimentary Geology and Geochemistry from the University of Illinois. He has over 30 years of international experience in exploration and production projects in Latin America (Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia and Argentina), the USA Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Bertani will continue to act as President and Chief Executive Officer of Thompson & Knight Global Energy Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Thompson & Knight that provides business development and portfolio management services to the energy industry.

From September 2001 to December 2006, Dr. Bertani served as President of Petrobras America, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of the Petrobras Group (Brazil's national oil company with revenues of over $60 billion), where he was responsible for a successful investment plan, the construction of a valuable portfolio of exploration and production assets, and the acquisition and planned expansion of a major refinery in Pasadena, Texas. He dedicated over 30 years (1976-2006) of professional and managerial services to Petrobras, having occupied several high-level executive positions, including Director of International E&P activities and Managing Director of Petrobras UK.

Dr. Bertani is Vice President of the World Petroleum Council ("WPC"), where he is responsible for the technical program for the 19th World Petroleum Congress to be held in Madrid, Spain in 2008. In addition to organizing the largest oil and gas conference, the WPC (founded in 1933 and headquartered in London) provides a forum for its 61 member countries for discussion of the main issues facing the oil/gas industry on a worldwide and non-political basis.

Dr. Bertani is President of the Brazil Texas Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for International Studies of the St. Thomas University and the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.
