Vienna, 24 May: Russian gas giant OAO Gazprom would like to raise the issue of building up the capacity of gas pipelines in Austria so as to be able to pump more gas to other European customers via this country, Gazprom’s CEO Aleksey Miller said on Wednesday [23 May].
“It would be desirable to consider new gas transportation facilities,” he said in a speech at the Russian-Austrian business forum.
Miller underlined Austria’s advantageous geographic position as one of Europe’s transit and transport junctions.
“There’s a good deal of new work ahead of our Austrian counterparts and ourselves,” he said. “We see clear goals and are ready to implement them.”
