BroadLogic Network Technologies, a leading provider of silicon solutions for broadband networks, today announced the appointment of Del D.H. Allison as vice president of worldwide sales responsible for developing a technology partnership channel, generating design wins and building out the sales team.

Prior to BroadLogic, Allison held senior executive sales positions at a number of small and large semiconductor companies. Most recently he was vice president, worldwide sales at TranSwitch Corporation, a developer of silicon and software solutions for converging video, voice and data. At TranSwitch, he rebuilt the sales team into an effective global organization, resulting in revenue growth of 150% in less than three years while significantly improving gross margins.

Prior to TranSwitch, Allison was senior director of sales at Agere Systems, a spinout of Lucent Technologies Microelectronics Group. While there, he managed the first global external microelectronics customer to exceed $500 million in annual revenue. Allison was vice president of North America sales at Ortel Corporation — sold to Lucent, and held management positions at Level One Corporation — sold to Intel, Lattice Semiconductor Corporation, and National Semiconductor.

“As we enter a period of intense channel development, Del’s semiconductor, MSO and telecom experience provides a highly valuable and complementary addition to our existing team” said Danial Faizullabhoy, president and CEO of BroadLogic. “Del’s frequent success at building sales teams will also ensure we are optimally structured to execute on our go-to-market plan.”

“With its enabling technologies, including the TeraPIX and Wideband Receiver, BroadLogic is clearly poised to be a leader in the broadband market,” said Allison. “Consumers have developed an insatiable appetite for next-generation services, including video on demand, high definition and high speed data, and both current and new players in the broadband market will seek to differentiate their services by turning to BroadLogic for innovative and efficient ways to reclaim bandwidth for advanced services.”
