Kazakh Leader, CIS Economic Body’s Chief Discuss Use of Energy

Astana, 30 May: Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has received the secretary-general of the Eurasian Economic Community [EAEC], Grigoriy Rapota, the presidential press service reported today.
“Preparations for a session of the Interstate Council of the EAEC at the level of heads of state, which will be held in Moscow this summer, were discussed at the meeting,” the press release says.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed the issues of regulating water and energy in the EAEC space. “As part of instructions given earlier, we are drawing up a blueprint for the regulation of water and energy and more effective use of water and energy resources in Central Asia. Besides, a blueprint of a single energy space is currently being drawn up,” Rapota said at a news briefing following the meeting.
