John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Visits the Texas Education Agency and Provides Free Workshops for Students, Thursday June 7th in Austin

John Lennon Educational Tour Bus:

WHAT: The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus visits the Texas Education Agency to work with local students on Thursday. The selected students will write, perform, record, and videotape an original song, and go home with a completed professional music video on a Maxell DVD. The Bus travels to schools across the country year round providing free tours and audio and video workshops. The Bus has also served as a recording facility for such superstars as the Black Eyed Peas, Mos Def, and Fergie (with whom the Bus is currently on tour).

With two studio environments, the state-of-the-art facility features the latest technology, including Apple audio and video solutions, as well as the latest traditional musical instruments. The four on-board engineers introduce visitors to the studios, explaining and demonstrating record and video production, and introducing an array of possible opportunities within the music and multimedia industries.

Come Together: The Official John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Guide to Music and Video (Thomson Course Technology) is a newly published book chronicling the Bus' journey. It is part how-to, part celebrity interviews, part technological showcase, and part travelogue. The book is filled with photographs and features an accompanying DVD with popular recording artist interviews including Mos Def, Macy Gray, will.i.am and many more as well as some of the original compositions recorded and performed by teens and tips of the trade.
