Jun. 9–EAST MANATEE — Pulte Homes is developing nearly 1,000 Parrish acres into a community featuring more than 1,000 homes.

The model homes and amenities center at Harrison Ranch opened a few months ago, and now the sales staff has a new home.

The sales office is a centralized location for staff and potential buyers to meet. From there, sales staff can take buyers to one of Harrison Ranch’s three models. There are two single-family home models and one villa model with another villa model slated to open in the spring.

The single-family models range from 1,834 square feet to 3,032-square-feet.

Prices in Harrison Ranch begin in the low $200,000s.

Pulte Homes’ Harrison Ranch is located on the north side of U.S. 301. The development is nearly 1,000 acres and upon completion will feature 965 single-family homes and 112 villas.

Nearly 75 percent of the homes will border conservation areas or water, said Scott Campbell, Pulte’s Tampa division president.

Pulte Homes bought the 998-acre Harrison Ranch property in 2003 for $16 million from John Falkner, according to Bradenton Herald archives. The company then designed a neighborhood that allowed all the wetlands and the majority of the mature oak trees to stay.

The neighborhood is slated to be constructed in four phases.

Harrison Ranch is one of the latest in a series of large communities planned for the once-rural Parrish area.

Pulte helped restore and move a 1915 cowboy bunkhouse that was located on the property. Harrison Ranch had once been an area where ranchers would bring their cattle stock when it was ready for slaughter. Since the process took days, the cowboys would stay at the bunkhouse until they were finished with their work. The home slept about five and is now restored and on display at Manatee Village Historical Park.

Upon completion, nearly two miles of nature trails will wind through the community.

Other large developments approved in Parrish include Williams and Herold Communities’ Cross Creek, a 670-acre project on Fort Hamer Road that will include more than 1,000 residences and Neal Communities’ 135-acre, 368 home Forest Creek.
