SkyMeals to Raise Money for Upward Bound House By Auctioning Gift Certificates on eBay
Posted on: Monday, 11 June 2007, 18:00 CDT
SkyMeals, the upscale dining alternative to on-board airline food, is about to auction special gift certificates on eBay, with all proceeds going to Upward Bound House of Santa Monica.
The online eBay auction, which begins on June 12, 2007, will offer gift certificates good for up to six meals over a six-month period. SkyMeals will donate 100% of the proceeds to Upward Bound House of Santa Monica (www.upwardboundhouse.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to finding housing for homeless families with children and low-income seniors.
These auctioned SkyMeals gift certificates can be redeemed via the company's website (www.SkyMeals.com) and applied to airline travelers departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Bob Hope Airport (Burbank International Airport), John Wayne Airport (Irvine International Airport) and Long Beach International Airport.
The SkyMeals gift certificates are good for one meal per month for solo airline travelers or two meals per month if two passengers are flying together, for a maximum of six meals over six months. Gift certificate recipients can choose between over 70 mouth-watering cuisine choices, such as Shrimp & Asparagus Farfalle Fra Diavlo, Smoked Fresh Turkey Breast with roasted red potatoes and cognac cranberry relish, and Brown Sugar Glazed Salmon.
By ordering online or by phone 24 hours before departure, customers can have their orders delivered in a distinctive insulated cooler bag directly to the airport. SkyMeals is clearly the tasteful alternative to pre-packaged, heavily processed, on-board airline food and a convenient option for flights that offer no dining choices at all.
