Posted on: Friday, 15 June 2007, 09:18 CDT
DENVER, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines will begin new service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) in Florida starting tonight, June 15, 2007.
The daily non-stop flight will depart from Denver at 11:55 p.m. and arrive in Jacksonville at 5:15 a.m., with the return flight departing Jacksonville at 6:10 a.m. and arriving in Denver at 7:50 a.m. Frontier's Jacksonville service will utilize its Airbus A319 aircraft, featuring 33 inches of legroom plus 24 channels of DIRECTV(R) service and four pay-per-movies in every seatback.
From Denver, travelers can make convenient connections to Frontier cities throughout the western United States. With Frontier's early morning departure from Jacksonville, passengers can be in Denver for a full day of business and leisure activities or can reach Colorado's High Country by mid-day to enjoy everything the Rocky Mountains have to offer. It will be no surprise if Frontier's planes flying both directions on the new route are full; Jacksonville and Denver are the most populous cities in their respective states.
"On behalf of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, I'd like to welcome Frontier Airlines to Jacksonville International Airport for what I believe will be the beginning of a great relationship for both Jacksonville and Denver travelers," said John D. Clark, executive director of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority. "Jacksonville and Denver are both dynamic cities in which to live, work and play, with engaging cultural and leisure activities, and healthy business environments. The connections Frontier provides through its Denver hub will undoubtedly lead to some exciting Western adventures for residents of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia."
"We are proud to be the first airline to offer non-stop, direct daily service between Denver and Jacksonville, and we look forward to serving our new passengers with our comfortable aircraft, superior service, consistent on-time departures and arrivals, and in-flight entertainment," said John Happ, senior vice president of marketing and planning for Frontier. "Frontier welcomes Jacksonville passengers to the Mile High City and the Rocky Mountain West, and we know passengers flying out of Denver will enjoy having another warm weather travel option on Frontier, as we're now serving nearly two dozen North American coastal destinations."
