Kovykta Field May Enter Commercial Production After 2017 – Official

MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) – The Kovykta gas condensate field could be brought into commercial production after 2017, Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Andrei Dementyev has said.

“The field will go into commercial production in the final stage of implementing the program of developing a unified system of gas extraction, transportation and supplies in Eastern Siberia and the Far East after 2017, but in reality even later,” he said at a Friday session of the government commission for the fuel and energy complex.

Dementyev said that the field is regarded as a reserve to guarantee a link with the unified gas supply system and the cheapest current reserve for domestic market needs.
