Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISSC) announced today that American Airlines has awarded the Company a contract to supply IS&S Cockpit/IP™ Flat Panel Display Systems for its fleet of nearly 200 Boeing 757/767 aircraft. Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of this calendar year.
For American Airlines, IS&S will replace 22 individual cockpit instruments with four, full color flat panel displays. The Company's Flat Panel Display System significantly improves display reliability while offering a versatile platform that can be easily modified to improve overall functionality, or to meet future regulatory requirements.
"We are pleased that this prestigious international operator has chosen our Flat Panel Display System to retrofit their fleet," says Roman Ptakowski, President of Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. "The Cockpit/IPTM offers scalable growth to satisfy airlines' demands today, as well as the requirements of future technologies and mandates. In addition, the upgrade of our customers' Boeing 757/767 aircraft can be accomplished with the Cockpit/IPTM in less than four days, allowing it to process without the operator having to wait through heavy maintenance checks and extended aircraft downtime."
Since October 1, 2006, the beginning of the Company's current fiscal year, Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. has received $75 million in new Flat Panel Display System orders on a variety of aircraft including Citation business jets, Pilatus PC-12's, Eclipse Aviation's Eclipse 500 very light jet, B-757/767s and others.
