KUALA KUBU BARU: Two tour buses were involved in two separate accidents near Genting Highlands yesterday, injuring the passengers.

The first accident happened about 3pm at Km14 of the Genting Highlands road when the bus, carrying 28 tourists, was travelling towards Batang Kali.

The driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle when he tried to avoid hitting a car from the opposite direction.

A traffic police spokesman said the bus then rammed into a boulder at the road shoulder and overturned.

A 40-year-old woman, who was travelling in the bus, sustained a broken leg and was taken to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for treatment.

The other passengers sustained minor injuries.

The accident reduced traffic to a crawl for several kilometres but returned to normal 30 minutes later.

In the second incident at Km17 of the Genting-Karak highway, another bus carrying 26 Singaporeans tipped over and landed on a van.

No one was seriously injured in the incident. They were given treatment there.
