FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A passenger and two Southwest Airlines flight attendants were injured when the airplane they were on experienced turbulence on Tuesday, an airline spokesman said.

The airplane landed safely at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and paramedics examined the three people, said Chris Mainz, an airline spokesman.

The passenger was examined and released, while the flight attendants decided to go to a local hospital, Mainz said. One flight attendant had an injured ankle, and the other injured her shoulder, he said.

The airline did not identify the passenger or the flight attendants.

The Southwest Airlines flight 1527 was on its way from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale with 76 passengers and five crew members aboard, Mainz said.
