Northwest Jet Loses Engine Power

A Northwest Airlines jet returned to Minneapolis minutes after losing power in its left engine en route to Pittsburgh, it was reported Thursday.
Flight 1056 turned back Wednesday night just after reaching cruising altitude, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
The plane landed safely and emergency crews found the DC-9 had a fluid leak and locked brakes, said Northwest officials.
