Road Safety Advice ; Oxegen Fever Mounts As Festival Gears Up
By MICHELLE O’KEEFFE
THE Road Safety Authority yesterday urged people to travel to and from Oxegen on public transport.
And they warned motorists to remember the no drink-driving message, to stay within the speed limit and to wear seatbelts.
RSA chief executive Noel Brett said: “With 80,000 people attending Oxegen this weekend we would like to remind drivers to exercise caution at all times.
“Also passengers should be aware their lives are in the hands of your driver so don’t be afraid or embarrassed to tell him or her to slow down or drive more carefully if you fear for your safety.”
During the festival the RSA will be running road safety messages on the big screens beside the stages.
Oxegen promoters MCD are also encouraging as many festival-goers as possible to use public transport.
