ITA Software's Jeremy Wertheimer Named a Finalist for CEO of the Year in The Mass Technology Leadership Council's 2007 Awards

Posted on: Tuesday, 10 July 2007, 09:22 CDT

ITA Software, the leading provider of innovative airline and IT services, today announced that The Mass Technology Leadership Council, Inc. named Jeremy Wertheimer a finalist in the CEO of the Year category of the Council's 2007 Technology Leadership Awards. The annual awards honor Massachusetts companies and individuals across multiple categories, recognizing leadership and excellence in business and technology.

As ITA's founder and CEO, Wertheimer has played an integral role in developing the company's technical platform and business relationships, and creating a thriving culture that attracts some of the best and brightest software engineers in computer science. Intrigued by the complex computing challenges facing the travel industry, Wertheimer founded ITA while completing his studies at MIT's Artificial Intelligence Lab. Today, ITA Software's patented algorithms and easy-to-use matrix interface are recognized as the driving force behind the significant growth of the online travel market, and for supporting new business models that are improving the way consumers research and book travel.

According to the Mass Technology Leadership Council, more than 180 submissions were received during the open nomination process. Wertheimer is one of six finalists in the CEO category. The Council's Board of Trustees selected the finalists and a separate group of judges will determine the final winners. The winners will be announced at the Fall Awards Gala, October 18, 2007 at the Westin Copley Place in downtown Boston.
