Federation Council Approves Ten-Year Residency Requirement for Senators

MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) – The Federation Council, the upper chamber of the Russian Parliament, has approved a bill that introduces a mandatory ten-year residency requirement for senators.
The bill, which was earlier adopted by the State Duma, introduces amendments to Clause 1 of the law that regulates the formation of the Federation Council.
