MAXjet Named #2 International Airline By Travel & Leisure Magazine

Posted on: Thursday, 12 July 2007, 09:18 CDT

MAXjet Airways announced that it has been chosen as the world's number two international airline by readers of Travel & Leisure magazine, ahead of more than 300 other international airlines. This marks the first time MAXjet has been cited by Travel & Leisure's international airline survey.

"For an airline that started flights in 2005, this is a significant honor. We are thrilled that our passengers rate our low-fare Business Class alongside the best names in the business," said MAXjet CEO Bill Stockbridge.

MAXjet ranks as the second best international airline for 2007 by Travel & Leisure readers, behind perennial favorite Singapore Airlines, which also was rated first in the 2006 survey. MAXjet ranks ahead of long-time international service leaders such as Emirates, Cathay Pacific Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airways and British Airways.

"This ranking is based on passenger feedback by the discerning readers of Travel & Leisure magazine," said Stockbridge. "Our ranking is a testimony to our outstanding value proposition that combines Business Class comfort and low fares between London and cities across the United States."

Travel & Leisure tabulated subscriber votes between January 17 and March 27, 2007. Travel industry professionals who completed the survey were excluded from the final tally, according to TravelandLeisure.com. Airline rankings are based on cabin comfort, food, in-flight service, customer service and value.

MAXjet pioneered affordable All Business Class transatlantic service in November 2005. MAXjet offers fast check-in, spacious airside departure lounges, well-padded deep-recline leather seats with 60" pitch, gourmet four-course meals, on-demand entertainment and an Arrive and Refresh product complete with complimentary hot showers and sauna/steam room upon landing in London, for the price of a flexible Economy Class fare. MAXjet serves New York, Washington, Las Vegas and Los Angeles (starting August 30) from London Stansted Airport, London's most convenient airport to the City and Financial Districts.
