The Kiev Pecherskyy district court has rejected the Cabinet of Ministers’ suit against Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko’s inactivity in dismissing Arsen Avakov as the head of the Kharkiv regional state administration, Ukrainian UNIAN news agency reported on 13 July.

On 3 June 2006, the Kharkiv regional council voted no confidence in Avakov but this decision was overruled by the Supreme Court of Ukraine in January 2007, the agency said.

The Kiev Pecherskyy district court decided to reject the cabinet’s suit, citing the Supreme Court’s ruling and due to the absence of corpus delicti in the president’s actions, the agency added.
