U.S. regulators may need months to review public comments on Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s application to sell the Plan B "morning-after" contraceptive without a prescription, a Food and Drug Administration official said on Tuesday.

A Merck & Co. Inc. president said on Tuesday she was confident the company's new cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil would win a positive recommendation from a key government group that sets standards for immunizations.
