The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County's official economic development partnership, is pleased to announce that Samoho Healthcare has established a medical facility in Miami-Dade County. Based in Mexico, Samoho Healthcare is a medical services provider specializing in urgent care and general medical services.
"With the already strong infrastructure Miami-Dade has for healthcare, we felt that it would be an ideal location for a medical services facility to offer both local and international clients high-quality, urgent-care medical services," said Guillermo Rochin, Director General, Samoho Healthcare. "This community also offers the experienced, multicultural workforce in the healthcare sector necessary to continue our success in new markets."
The Beacon Council assisted Samoho Healthcare with information on research and marketing analysis, business contacts and referrals, and general community information. The company was referred to The Beacon Council by Enterprise Florida, Inc.'s office in Mexico.
"Our community offers world-class healthcare services to both our residents and visitors, and Samoho Healthcare's decision to open a healthcare facility in affiliation with Mercy Hospital here will only strengthen this already thriving local industry," said Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Bruno A. Barreiro of District 5. "On behalf of Miami-Dade County, I welcome Samoho Healthcare to our great community and pledge our continued support for all of the businesses that locate operations in Miami-Dade."
In the next three years, Samoho Healthcare's MediGo™ Medical Urgent Care facility in Miami-Dade will hire up to 50 full-time employees and occupy more than 13,000 square feet of office space near Miami's Brickell area. The company will make a new capital investment of $6 million in Miami-Dade County.
"Increasingly, we are working with companies from Europe, Asia and Latin America that are choosing to establish operations in Miami-Dade in order to penetrate the U.S. markets," said Frank R. Nero, President and CEO, The Beacon Council. "While we remain the ideal location for companies looking to invest in Latin America and the Caribbean, our emergence as one of the world's leading business centers has made our area that much more attractive for companies looking to succeed in the global marketplace."
