The School of Management at Boston University announced that The Wall Street Journal has increased its regional ranking of Boston University's MBA program by 12 positions to 25th from 37th last year. The Wall Street Journal bases its ranking on an interactive survey of corporate recruiters conducted in conjunction with Harris Interactive. The survey also rated the School 9th in the world for academic excellence in Information Technology.
"Our consistently improving rankings result from the School's unique fusing of the art, science, and technology of business," said Louis E. Lataif, Dean, Boston University School of Management. "To develop effective business leaders, we impart an understanding of and an appreciation for the art of business in combination with the traditional business sciences and the increasing role of technology in business. Additionally, our focus on interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, business ethics, and learning in and learning about teams are among recruiters' most important attributes in The Wall Street Journal's rankings."
The School's unique MS•MBA program, its "next generation MBA," enables highly motivated graduate business students to earn concurrently both a traditional Master of Business Administration degree, as well as a Master of Science in Information Systems. The two degrees can be earned in the same 21-month period normally required for an MBA alone while also providing for a summer internship experience.
The School of Management continues to make increasingly strong showings in the most significant rankings of business schools from around the world. The Financial Times, for example, ranked the School 1st in the United States for alumni Career Progress in 2004 and 2006.
