Web-based 3D anatomy product used by students across the world wins first prize in the digital and online resources category

London, UK (PRWEB) September 27, 2011

Primal Pictures announced today that Anatomy & Physiology Online has been honored with a first prize award in the Digital and Online Resources category by the British Medical Association (BMA).

Anatomy & Physiology Online was praised for its interactive learning components that provide a deep foundational understanding of anatomy and physiology. Reviewers commented on the impressive images, which can be viewed in 360 degrees and at different layers through the body, and called the program âœa fantastic resource for the study of anatomy.â

Anatomy & Physiology Online is an interactive, 3D learning tool that includes all the content students need for anatomy and physiology courses, and to support their learning in these critical areas. Anatomy & Physiology Online includes 19 modules with 3D anatomy images and interactive models, narrated animations and illustrations, dissection slides, clinical case studies, aging impact visuals, a pronunciation guide, quizzes and more.

“We are thrilled that our premier online product has received this recognition,” said Peter Allan, Managing Director of Primal Pictures. âœOur goal in founding this company 20 years ago was to create the most complete and medically accurate 3D model of the human anatomy. Recognition from such a prestigious organization reinforces that we are providing students with the anatomy & physiology content they need, in the interactive format appreciated and understood best by todayâs learners.”

The BMA Medical Book Awards have been conducted annually since 1994 by the BMA’s Board of Science and administered by the BMA Library. It aims to encourage and reward excellence in medical publishing and patient information. The competition received 692 entries in 21 categories, and 21 first place prizes were awarded. All entries are reviewed by doctors or educators who are asked to consider accuracy, currency, originality, production quality, and whether the resource meets the needs of its audience.
