Online Gaming Company has a Stake in Multiple Literacies: Cackleberries Virtual World Focuses on English as a Second Language and Special Needs Literacy Among Other 21st Century Skills and Knowledge

July 10, 2012

Cackleberries Entertainment Inc. emerges as online leader in early second language acquisition and education for developing multiple literacies.

Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) July 10, 2012

Cackleberries Entertainment Inc. is fast emerging as a major player in the world of language acquisition and special needs education. Last summer, the Canadian company launched Cackleberries English Language School where children around the world take 100 animated English immersion lessons per year for three years in a virtual online classroom directed by Master Hoobee, the school-master owl.

More recently, Cackleberries entered into a partnership with Variety the Children´s Charity to promote the organization´s message and increase the fundraising base for Variety Tents around the world. “Between ESL and teaching the language of ability and disability through the Variety program, we are achieving our corporate goal of building the safest and best online literacy-focused educational programs on the Internet, and we are just getting started,” said the company´s CEO, Eronne Foster.

In Cackleberries´ virtual Variety House, children learn the language of ability and disability through books, games and activities. They also can learn American Sign Language and interact with Charitee, a seven-year-old Cackleberry who lives in a wheelchair. The purpose of the house is to help young children develop the confidence and competence to “read” and interpret the world around them in all its diversity.

In the coming months, Cackleberries will be adding a Math School and a Science School to their virtual world and several more language schools and educational programs that help children practice the multiple literacies they are going to need for life.

Foster went on to say that she is proud to be heading a company that helps children develop literacy on so many levels. “Becoming a literate, capable human being doesn´t stop at reading. There is ecoliteracy, emotional literacy, aural and visual literacy, multicultural literacy, physical literacy, and cyberliteracy. Cackleberries has games, activities and characters that help young children develop strength in each of these skill sets through immersion while they play.”

According to Foster, “The earlier children are immersed in these literacies, including second languages, the more quickly and easily they pick them up. The fact that we can deliver this content to children in their homes and schools through our Desktop Safety Icon© is a win-win for our company and the families who have Cackleberries memberships.”

Cackleberries is a children´s edutainment (entertainment and education) company offering an animated virtual world, toys, games, music and more. Most importantly, Cackleberries introduces young children, three to seven, to online education in multiple literacies with a dedication to keeping them safe. Cackleberries protects children from the internet with the latest technology, provides family-friendly content, and never advertises to children. The living virtual world of Oville is a place for children to learn and play in a guaranteed safe environment.
