Westminster, California (PRWEB) May 05, 2013

Over 1600 animals are brought into WAGS Pet Adoption http:// [ http://www.wagspetadoption.org[http://www.wagspetadoption.org by Westminster Animal Control officers yearly. Often these animals have been abandoned, found on the street, and neglected. The feral cat population increases during the spring always creating an influx of animals to the shelter. Dogs are irresponsibly released or left to roam the streets. Animals are not spayed or neutered creating an over population.

Within the past year 9 months, WAGS has adopted out 630 animals and on any given day houses over 200 animals. WAGS Pet Adoption staff are over the top excited about the high adoption rate. WAGS Pet Adoption has only been open in Westminster California for two years, and seeing the increased recognition and recommendations to come to WAGS make all staff proud.

WAGS strives to be not only an animal adoption service but a community resource for the people of Westminster and surrounding communities. WAGS Pet Adoption is the winner of the City of Westminster’s Organization of the year 2012. Check out WAGS new video http://youtu.be/vub70H_tTIk. WAGS is having fun helping homeless, abandoned, and neglect animals find loving new families and forever homes.

C.Dorney, WAGS Adoption Coordinator says “ We are ecstatic after only a short time being open” Dorney continues with “ WAGS goal is to double these numbers in the upcoming year ( July begins the new year —based on a fiscal calendar from Westminster Animal Control contract ). I am confident the word will continue to spread about WAGS and the cute animals we have here.”
