Pearson Launches 21 New Online Career Technical Education (CTE) Courses for Students in Grades 9-12

July 1, 2013

For schools and school districts nationwide, CTE courses will integrate core academics with real-world career relevance.

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 01, 2013

Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, today announced 21 new online career technical education (CTE) courses for high school students interested in exploring a variety of careers and gaining career-specific knowledge. The courses are part of the GradPoint and Connections Learning suite of virtual and blended learning solutions and will be available to districts and schools in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014, respectively.

“These new courses are a great way for students to ‘try-out’ a career that interests them – and because they are delivered online, they provide more flexibility and personalization for students while teachers are better able to focus on the needs of individual students,” said Steven Guttentag, president of Connections Learning, a division of Pearson.

Aligned to 8 of 16 recognized Career Clusters® developed by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc), the new courses cover Clusters such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), and Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security. Each course links school-based learning with knowledge and skills required for success in the workplace.
