BusinessWeek Ranks Boston University's Part-Time MBA Program 15th Nationally

Posted on: Thursday, 8 November 2007, 09:00 CST

In BusinessWeek's first ranking of part-time MBA programs, Boston University School of Management was ranked 15th in the nation. There are a total of 1846 AACSB member part-time programs in the U.S.

BusinessWeek considered three measures: student satisfaction; academic quality (consisting of six equally weighted measures: average GMAT score, average work experience, the percentage of all teachers in the part-time MBA program who are tenured faculty, average class size in core business classes, the number of business electives available to part-time MBA students, and the program's completion rate); and the degree that graduates say their program was "completely" responsible for them achieving their goals.

"The part-time MBA program leverages all of the School's strengths, including our world-class faculty, our widely-recognized skills in cross-functional curriculum design, global information systems, Team Learning and leadership, and our technology infrastructure," said Louis E. Lataif, Allen Questrom Professor and Dean, Boston University School of Management.

"One of the unique aspects of the part-time MBA program is the opportunity for students to gain international exposure through the International Field Seminars in Europe, Asia, and Brazil. Additionally, part-time students are integrated with the full-time MBAs for all their electives, which broadens their scope of experience and networking opportunities," commented Amanda Miller, director of the part-time MBA program.
