Educational Activities Seminar Concludes
According to Oman News: A seminar on “Educational Activities a platform to enriching education” recommended to increase cooperation between the Ministry of Education, the public and private sectors and regional and international organizations in educational activities in order to serve the joint goals, preparation of awareness programmes on the significance of the educational activities, as well as, a Joint Action Plan aimed at consolidating integrating activities programmes with school curricula between the educational activities department at the Directorate General for Relations and Educational Media and concerned departments at the Directorate General for Curricula. The seminar which was concluded under the auspices of Yahya bin Saud al-Sulaimi, Education Minister also recommended to create trends of educational activities for students of both government and private educational colleges in coordination with the higher education institutions, consolidating cooperation between the Ministries of Education, Heritage and Culture and Tourism, and the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI) in the area of publication, visiting archeological and tourist attractions and upgrading students’ craft skills. It also called for encouraging usage of the Internet and specialized computer applications in educational activities, encouraging interaction and exchanging of expertise among schools in the Sultanate and abroad. It also called for availing the relevant financial grades to fill the posts of activities supervisors and specialists at all educational regions among others. Afterwards, students from the Directorate General of Education at the Governorate of Muscat presented a musical programme. Also an artistic show was staged by students from the Directorate General of Education at the Northern Batinah Region who won the first place on conservation of Cleanliness and Hygiene at School Environment for the academic year 2006/2007. The chief guest, then distributed appreciation certificates and prizes to participants. He also distributed the Educational Activities Competition prizes for 2006/ 2007 to winning schools and students.
