TORONTO - Ontario's education minister says students of all races in Toronto should learn together rather than be separated.
Kathleen Wynne says a multicultural society should have multicultural schools. Wynne's comments come after trustees of the Toronto District School Board voted to set up Canada's first black-focused public school.
She says education officials should show the world that different races can together live in harmony.
A superintendent with the school board says community input will be sought before the facility opens in 2009.
The information obtained will be used to determine curriculum, and admission policies.
