MENLO PARK, Calif., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Studywiz Spark, the first and only Dynamic LearnSpace for K-12 education, will be presented by Southgate Community Schools at the 2008 Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) Conference, March 5-7, at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and DeVos Place Convention Center. The multimedia capabilities of Studywiz Spark that enable 21st Century learning will be introduced to conference attendees during a one-hour session from 4:00pm-5:00pm on March 6, Room Emerald B, on the Concourse Level of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. The session is entitled "eCampus, A Virtual Learning Environment for K-12: Bringing 21st Century Tools Into the Classroom."
"Studywiz Spark is an advanced communication tool that allows group collaboration, individual personalization and engagement of students," said Bob Longo, Executive Vice President, Studywiz Spark. "The Dynamic LearnSpace enables schools like Southgate to access multimedia capabilities, like collaborative galleries, eLocker, messaging, chat and online testing that help to improve communication between teachers, students and even parents."
"Southgate selected Studywiz Spark as the technology platform that would enable our teachers to optimize instructional materials and share curricula and rich-media content across the district, particularly in our elementary schools," said Mike Toschi, Southgate Director of Technology. "We have six elementary buildings that house 130 instructors, who are teaching the same content, and we needed a system that would allow for group collaboration and communication among our teachers and students."
During MACUL, Southgate will present a firsthand account of its experience with Studywiz Spark and how its teachers and students are using the multimedia applications to engage in 21st Century learning. Southgate representatives will speak to the measurable improvements in collaboration that have resulted in:
-- Southgate's creation of a Studywiz Spark Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to support and redesign K-12 curriculum in a multi-media rich, technology-infused setting. -- Teachers' success in addressing differentiated instruction for general education as well as special education students. -- Specific lessons that have proven results for student achievement. -- Use of Studywiz Spark as a collaborative repository for professional development and lesson sharing.
