ST. PAUL, Minn., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamline University School of Law has moved into the third tier in the national rankings in the latest U.S. News & World Report assessment of the nation's best law schools, graduate schools, and specialty programs. In addition, Hamline's Dispute Resolution Institute has been ranked in the top five in the nation for the eighth consecutive year.

"Hamline's overall ranking in the third tier reflects a growing national recognition of the educational quality and innovative programs at Hamline, including the successful establishment of our new Health Law Institute, our newly-developing Business Law Institute, the expansion of innovative dual degree programs, and an increasingly strong first-time bar passage rate by our graduates," said Hamline University School of Law Dean Jon Garon.

Hamline University has recently developed the Business Law Institute which will combine the strengths of its School of Law and Graduate School of Management to build comprehensive, collaborative options for students. Two years ago, Hamline unveiled its Health Law Institute, which provides a broad range of learning opportunities to students, scholars and health care professionals. It offers specialized classes and externships, allowing its students to engage in real-life health law experiences.

"The third tier is a level of recognition that we know employers and students are looking for in an institution," said Hamline University President Linda Hanson. "Hamline is creating innovative and relevant collaborations and program offerings, such as our institutes in the areas of health law, business law, and dispute resolution. These programs meet the growing need for skilled, professional legal graduates who are able to make a meaningful difference in their communities and around the world."

Hamline's Dispute Resolution Institute currently offers thirty alternative dispute resolution courses in three domestic and six international programs each year, including new offerings in preventive law and corporate practice, religious conflict, ADR and technology, and rethinking zealousness in family law advocacy.
