EMCC, UM Agree on Student Transfers
BANGOR – The University of Maine and Eastern Maine Community College have signed an agreement designed to ease the way of EMCC early childhood education students who want to continue their studies in the University of Maine’s College of Education.
The idea is to allow students from the two-year college to complete a bachelor’s degree and earn a kindergarten through third- grade teaching certificate.
EMCC enrolls 75 students each year in its early childhood education program. After graduating with an associate of applied science degree, these students are qualified to teach children ages birth to 5 in early care and education programs. Many students are interested in continuing their education.
