June 20, 2008

A SOUTH Wales primary school has been given top marks by inspectors.

Llancarfan Primary School, in the Vale of Glamorgan, was awarded grade one in all seven key areas of inspection by Estyn.

The inspection team said: “Standards achieved and pupils’ personal development are outstanding as a result of the high quality of teaching and care given to pupils of all ages and abilities.

“There is an outstanding partnership with parents and the school provides outstanding information for them so that they support their children’s learning very well.”

Jill Davies, chairwoman of the school’s governors, said: “Being awarded grade one in all seven key questions confirms the professional and committed manner with which the headteacher, teaching staff, support staff and governors undertake their responsibilities.”

Headteacher Sarah Morgan said: “We are constantly looking for ways in which we can improve the learning experiences of our pupils.”
