Ellis School Leader Announces Retirement

The head of The Ellis School in Shadyside has announced plans to retire at the end of the 2008-09 school year. The all girls private K-12 school has an enrollment of 470.
Mary Grant, who has held the position at Ellis since 2002, previously worked for 11 years at Springside School in Philadelphia. She earned a bachelor of arts degree from Smith College in Northhampton, Mass., and a doctorate in U.S. history from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
